<title>2006 Hidalgo Falls Festival Competition Results</title>
<link>http://paddletexas.com/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=106</link>
<description>Thanks very much to all of the participants in the whitewater events. I had my doubts as to whether anyone would want to do the events with the low water, but it was a very respectable turnout. Much thanks to Bob Ward for being the finish line for both races and to Pete Cragg for helping me set up the buoys for the slalom race. Thanks to Steve Daniel for doing the finish timing on the slalom, and thanks to my wife Angelina and to John Bailey for helping me with the Rodeo judging. Last, but not least, thanks to my lovely wife for making the prizes (very nice etched beer glasses).

<title>EJ's New River Running/Creekboats</title>
<link>http://paddletexas.com/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=98</link>
<description>Last year Dane came up with three sizes of the River Running Creekboat and I forgot all about it.

The Heroine, Hero, and Super Hero. For you ladies out there, I hope you aren’t offended that I bagged the Heroine name, because it’s homonym is not a good representation of Jackson Kayak. And the banter would be the Heroine and Cocaine. Therefore the Small one is the Hero, and the large one the Super Hero. Very cool. I also got two separate people suggest these names as well and I love it!

<title>Survey encourages yet another change</title>
<link>http://paddletexas.com/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=95</link>
<description>The biggest problem that I have in making this the perfect paddlin' site is that everyone likes different features and settings... and of course having to deal with all you paddlers. You all smell like wet dog!

But in the spirit of perfection I have added the ability to maximize the forum. You can now click on the [maximize] button (top of page) to expand the forum to full page, getting rid of the left menu's

I think this will make a few of you very happy, while others really wont care.

Please take the survey... it's really helping me make this place better</description>

Local Boater Saves Lives!!!

There is cause for much back slapping since Ken's brave day on the wave. For those of you that haven't heard we have ourselves a heroe many times over in our own Ken.
Fridays drama was a classic scene!. Ken was playing below Longhorn dam which is located at the south end of Town Lake in Austin. The sun was down and it was just beginning to get dark when he saw a canoe come over the dam. Ken figured this was just a canoe that had gotten away from the dock until...

Here's your chance - You can finally tell us what you think

Take a few minutes to take the Website Survey. This is your chance to anonymously critique the site. We will use the results of the survey to fix what's broken and add what you want to see. It's only 12 or maybe 15 questions, so it's not going to take long and it may really help to make this place even better.
Please take this seriously! If your going to take the survey, please be honest (i can take it).

<link>http://paddletexas.com/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=82</link>
<description>I came across a list of river deaths of well know very experienced boater today. It's quite sobering to read the cause of deaths of  fabulous boaters. I was especially shocked by finally finding a tiny little tid-bit about what happened to LVM's golden boy Mat Sheridan. That guy was sick! He knew his shit and was as good a boater as there is and he died in a &quot;portaging accident&quot;
